God Speak

To He with the living word,

Who spoke creation into existence,

Whose word raised the dead,

Speak life into the barren

Bring into existence all that is idle

To the one with a voice of thunder

The same voice that is gentle as a breeze

Whose word has healed the sick

Speak healing into the ill

Restore all that is broken

To He whose word does not pass

And will forever stand

Whose words don’t vary like shades of gray

Speak light into the darkness

Bring dawn to the dusk of life

Speak joy into sadness

Speak future into failure

Speak hope into the hopeless

Speak love into the lonely

Speak worth into the insignificant

Speak mercy into the troubled

Speak forgiveness into remorse

God, speak.

Bad Days

Behind Dark Clouds

If there is one thing that I am sure of is that God has a plan for my life and that He is in control of every detail. Life has taught me that bad days have their place in my story, even though I may not always know it in the moment. Moreover, I’ve learned that plants cannot thrive on sun alone, rain is definitely necessary for growth.

The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. (‭Psalms‬ ‭37‬:‭23‬ NLT)

Life Lesson

New Leaf

My Lawyer

LawyerFor those of us who are imperfect and trip and stumble along the way, I have good news. We have a lawyer that intercedes for us and serves as a mediator between God and us. Jesus was man, so He is well aware of the temptations that we face. Moreover, He paid the price for our sin so we wouldn’t have to. By His grace we are saved, and this couldn’t have come at a better time.

For, There is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time. (‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭5-6‬ NLT)

Please Don’t Leave My Side

1 Day With YouI have a confession; I’ve failed, sinned and fallen more times than I can count. With each fall, I couldn’t help but feel the burden of my sin like the weight of the world on my shoulders. I can relate to the Psalmist’s prayer when he begs God to keep him in His presence and requests that the joy of salvation be returned unto him. Worse than the feeling of sinning and letting God down, is the feeling of not having Him by my side; it’s just not worth any earthly pleasure. Lord I NEED you.

Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. (‭Psalm‬ ‭51‬:‭11-12‬ NIV)

Paid in Full

No greater love If I were charged for every sin I’ve committed thus far, I’d never be able to pay the price. This is why the sacrifice on the cross (and Isaiah 53) moves me to tears. Jesus laid down His life as payment for my sins; there’s no greater demonstration of love. He did the same for you too.

All of us, like sheep, have strayed away. We have left God’s paths to follow our own. Yet the LORD laid on him the sins of us all. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭53‬:‭6‬ NLT)
