And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?(Matthew 6:30 NLT)
I’ve often heard people say there are many roads to heaven, I’m sorry if this doesn’t sit well with anyone, but that’s wrong. The Bible is clear, the ONLY way into heaven is through Jesus Christ and the salvation He offers. His death on the cross bridged the gap that sin wedged between us and God. John 14:6 supports this idea; I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.
Let all the world look to me for salvation! For I am God; there is no other. (Isaiah 45:22 NLT)
Where are you my sweet love?I’ve searched for you everywhere
Went up and down, asked around,
Yet you are lost, I can’t find you anywhere
But I have to find you, the clock is ticking
And I haven’t got a moment to spare
Please send me a sign, let me know you’re fine
As I spend my days searching in despair
Where are you my sweet love?
All I have are memories of moments shared
Moments of kindness, of your embrace and caress
Of your gentleness as you ran your fingers through my hair
Of the silence between us except for our beating hearts
Of your sincerity as I gazed into your profound stare
Let me hear your whispers, let me know you’re near
Me without you is like a leafless tree rendered bare
Where are you my sweet love?
I feel you’re close, God heard my prayer
I’ve searched without ceasing but my faith was decreasing
I was losing hope but now I know you’re near…somewhere
My heart begins to race my palms are getting sweaty
Soon you’ll be at my side and in my care
As I get closer I feel an explosion a surge of emotions
Then time stood still and I woke up, it was all a dream, you were never there.
How many of us could empathize with today’s passage? We all have our share of “dark nights” where sadness overcomes us and all we see are grey clouds. The difference is in how we react to these moments. The Psalmist teaches us a very valuable lesson; the same God that is with us in the day is the same God that will be with us in the dark night…..call on HIM.
O Lord, do not stay far away! You are my strength; come quickly to my aid! (Psalm 22:19 NLT)
Being mad at a person or hating them is such a draining task, it’s like carrying around dead weight. Imagine sleeping, eating, showering, and living with the added baggage, it’s too much work. Moreover, God is love and He has commanded us, His children, to love one another. This passage proposes an interesting question: If we love a God whom we don’t see, why can’t we love those that we do?
And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their fellow believers. (1 John 4:21 NLT)
Ever cooked anything that required continuos stirring until it was done? Believers are sort of the same, just in case anyone considered themselves perfect. The reality is we are works in progress. We fail and have our flaws, but God is continuously stirring things up in our lives as He molds us. We are many things; believers, saved, redeemed, but perfect isn’t one of them and that’s ok because God isn’t finished with us yet.
And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. (Philippians 1:6 NLT)
