It is well…

There is an old hymn which says “It is well with my soul”. In the past days, I’ve spent some time reflecting on this phrase. Things don’t always go the way we plan, sometimes they don’t go at all. However, if we believe what the word says in Jeremiah 29:11, then we must also believe that good will come, we must believe in God’s plan.

When past failures invade the current status; it is well with my soul
When people judge; it is well with my soul
When sadness creeps in; it is well with my soul
When it rains: it is well with my soul
When I’m broken; it is well with my soul
When I succeed, when I’m accepted, when joy takes over, when days are bright, when I’m made new; it is well with my soul because God is in control!

I know that you can do anything, and no one can stop you. (Job 42:2 NLT)

Mosaic

A mosaic is a work of art made of broken pieces; are broken hearts also masterpieces?

I Wish

I wish every day you have an excuse to smile as bright as the sunrise

I wish opportunities rain down on you, that heaven will open its skies

I wish that love surrounds you from the open to the close of your eyes

I wish that any harm coming to you will turn around or capsize

I wish that all bad chapters in your life be rewritten and revised

I wish that every blessing you receive and give be oversized

I wish your dreams become reality and with each, I wish you’re pleasantly surprised

I wish that you never lose heart, that you stay humble and wise

Knowing when to cry, when to laugh, when to teach and when to apologize

I wish you remain brave in dark times, knowing that it is the process which makes butterflies

And finally, I wish the above stay with you every day, from sunset to sunrise.

A Day Worth Living

I recently watched a series where, in one of the episodes, a character was far away from his wife, thus he wrote to her daily. On this specific occasion, he was telling her how good a day it had been. He ended his letter saying “Today was a day worth living”. Oddly enough, this ministered to me because I thought this is truly the way to live. So, I challenged myself for the year. I want to live in such a way that when I lay my head on the pillow each night, I too could say: today was a day worth living.

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24 NLT)
