Celebrating 4 Years!

Four years ago I set out to share my writing with anyone willing to read it. It was my first step in breaking out of my shell. I cannot say that the shell is completely gone but there is definitely less of it. I’m grateful for having taken the very difficult first step, but even more thankful to you, the readers, who have helped me continue taking further steps.

To everyone who has liked or shared any of the content, and to those who have given their words of encouragement… THANK YOU!

Hello Sunshine!

A little early mother’s day poem for the mommies out there:

Oh Roses, tulips, and flowering vines
Yet none are bright as this flower of mine
Let me say thank you with this short rhyme
For planting, in my heart, seeds of sunshine!

Grateful Challenge

During prayer, I realized that we usually do a lot of asking and not so much thanking. As a result, I challenged myself to be more grateful and I’d like you to join me on this journey.

The challenge is simple, set a goal time (3 weeks or 21 days is ideal to create a habit) and for each day find just one thing to be grateful for. Repeat the next day. I’ll be posting my reasons to be grateful, feel free to share or post your own.

Lastly, challenge someone else and let’s see if this spark that began with one, can start a blaze.

Here we go!!!

Joy

1 out of 10

1 out of 10As a child, I recall praying when I was in trouble or had a major test. If God had caller ID, He would’ve seen my number repeatedly. The problem is I can’t recall thanking Him as much as I ask, which is an issue because He always gives more than requested. In today’s passage, Jesus healed ten lepers yet only one returned to thank Him. My goal is to be like that one leper; asking is easy but being grateful takes effort.

One of them, when he saw that he was healed, came back to Jesus, shouting, “Praise God!” (‭Luke‬ ‭17‬:‭15‬ NLT)
