Hate Them With Love

Hate is a burden It’s only human to become upset or enraged when we have been unfairly treated, but the Bible teaches us that the sin is in how we act, “And don’t sin by letting anger control you…” (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬ NLT). Demonstrating love is challenging enough for me, so you could only imagine how much more difficult it must be to do so in the place of anger. Yet I’ve learned that love has been the key to overcoming some of the most difficult situations I’ve faced. Had Civil Rights leaders like Dr. King condoned violence, they would not have achieved what they did in the timeframe that they did it in. Bottom line: Love is the most powerful weapon we have.

Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭20‬ NLT)
