As the year comes to an end we tend to pause and reflect on things accomplished and those that weren’t. Perhaps reading the Bible, going to church, and getting closer to God were on the to do list but couldn’t be achieved, leaving us spiritually dried up. Maybe even our fire has died down. In the book of Ezekiel, the prophet finds himself in a valley with dry bones and just as those bones were revived we too can revive and reignite our spiritual flame. There’s no need for a New Years resolution, the time is now!
Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign LORD,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! (Ezekiel 37:3, 5 NLT)
