A Day Worth Living

I recently watched a series where, in one of the episodes, a character was far away from his wife, thus he wrote to her daily. On this specific occasion, he was telling her how good a day it had been. He ended his letter saying “Today was a day worth living”. Oddly enough, this ministered to me because I thought this is truly the way to live. So, I challenged myself for the year. I want to live in such a way that when I lay my head on the pillow each night, I too could say: today was a day worth living.

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. (Psalm 118:24 NLT)

New Year New Heart

I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. I will take away your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.

(Ezekiel 36:26 NLV)

The past…passed.

The past...passedThe arrival of a new year usually brings about mixed emotions. Some, focus on the goals and challenges they have set for the new year while others focus on the unfulfilled goals that were not completed in the past year. For those who fall into the latter, I encourage you to look ahead. The past has passed, God is at work on something new for THIS year!

“But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭18‬ NLT)

Make the most of your time, because you will never get it back. Happy New Years!!!!!New Year Awaits

Dry Bones and Extinguished Flames

Bones and FlamesAs the year comes to an end we tend to pause and reflect on things accomplished and those that weren’t. Perhaps reading the Bible, going to church, and getting closer to God were on the to do list but couldn’t be achieved, leaving us spiritually dried up. Maybe even our fire has died down. In the book of Ezekiel, the prophet finds himself in a valley with dry bones and just as those bones were revived we too can revive and reignite our spiritual flame. There’s no need for a New Years resolution, the time is now!

Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign LORD,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Look! I am going to put breath into you and make you live again! (‭Ezekiel‬ ‭37‬:‭3, 5‬ NLT)
