Dorothy Thompson, a journalist in the 1930s, once said “Only when we are no longer afraid do we begin to live”. Fear can be good to a certain extent, but we cannot let it hinder us from living, and most importantly, from carrying out God’s will. Fear can paralyze us, but love (especially God’s love) is much more powerful than fear. Sometimes we fear what others may think or say; or maybe we are afraid of letting go of old habits. Today’s challenge is to overcome any fear that may be hindering us from living a Godly life.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. (2 Timothy 1:7 NLT)

Amen!!! Absolutely. There is great difference between fear and respect, which is the kind of fear of the Lord referred to in the Bible!!! That would be the only kind of fear we should feel. He, our Lord is greater in us than the one who (thinks he) rules here on earth. 🙂
