In Big and Small Ways

I know a little man who is 4 (going on 5) years of age and is a fireball!!! One day his mom asked him how much he loved me to which he answered, “in big and small ways”. That got me thinking about 1 John 4:7. If God is love and we are His children, then that means we are loved and made capable of loving as well.

Love isn’t just what we see in movies or read in romance novels. It isn’t just roses and proposals. Love goes beyond that. Love is many things and can be expressed in both the simplest and most complicated ways. Love is a smile to brighten someone’s day, it is helping an elderly person, opening a door, giving back to those who invested in us and many other things. In the end, we children of God were created to love so let us make a habit of showing it in “big and small ways”.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. (1 John 4:7 NIV)
