Angry Prayer

Angry Prayer I like Psalms 13 because it reminds me of the moments when I’ve felt like God was just too busy for me. Verse 1 brings to mind some of my angry prayers…“O LORD, how long will you forget me? Forever? How long will you look the other way?” (‭Psalms‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬ NLT). As the chapter evolves we realize that the writer was venting, after all, he was human like the rest of us. The end is my favorite part because it reminds us that God’s love is unfailing. The psalmist speaks into his future saying that he rejoices because he is SURE that God WILL rescue him. My prayer today: Lord, in my moments of weakness help me have that same conviction and trust in You.

But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me. I will sing to the LORD because he is good to me. (‭Psalms‬ ‭13‬:‭5-6‬ NLT)
