Your Own Worst Enemy

Worst Enemy There’s a commonly said phrase that goes ” You are your own worst enemy”. Unfortunately I’ve known, all too well, the feeling of being just that. Sometimes, when we fail or fall, we have the BAD habit of beating ourselves up even AFTER God has forgiven us. Today’s verse is a pep talk that the Psalmist had with himself. He repeated it 2 more times as well (Psalms 42:5, Psalms 43:5). My prayer is that God helps us do our part after He has done His. Instead of feeling downcast because of our failures, I pray that we can be uplifted by the fact that He’s forgiven our mistakes and that He loves us.

Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! (‭Psalms‬ ‭42‬:‭11‬ NLT)
