Damaged Goods

RestorationI remember a conversation I had with a friend some time ago, where I was worried about past mistakes getting in the way of ministry. I can recall his answer as if it were yesterday, “So now you’re tainted? Damaged goods? No, you’re not”. His words marked me and reminded me of Paul’s writings in 1 Corinthians 1:28
“God chose things despised by the world, things counted as nothing at all and used them…”. I’m glad that God does not see us as damaged goods but as a restoration project to make new and use for His glory.

This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun! (2 Corinthians 5:17 NLT)
