For many years, writing has been a passion, but it wasn’t until a year ago that I began to share it with the world. My plan was to first introduce the writing, and then myself. So, a year later I’m doing just that. My name is Lisa and I am the writer behind the pen.

The page has been more of a therapy than anything else. Writing is my outlet not because I don’t have a voice, but because the thoughts and feelings flow better this way.

Most of the writing comes from experiences, both personal and shared, issues or topics very dear to my heart, and current events.

My main goal is not to use this platform for gain recognition or to vent frustrations, but to write something that will hopefully impact someone’s life. If something in a poem, image or reflection brightens someone’s day, brings a smile, consoles, or inspires, then I’ve attained said goal.

My faith and beliefs are very important to me, as they have helped form me, carried me through some of the darkest moments in life and are part of my daily living. Now laughter…well that has been like a soothing balm to my heart and soul. 

One of the best lessons my mother taught me was to always aspire to be great, but to be grateful for what I have. I try to remind myself of this daily. In moments of frustration or sadness, I look at the blessings that surround me and am reminded that gratitude keeps us humble.

I believe that everyday is a gift, hence “present”, let’s make the most of each one. Tomorrow is never promised so yes, do all the cliches; sing like no one is listening, dance like no one is watching, love like you’ve never been hurt, laugh when you can, apologize when you should, let go of things you can’t change, say “I love you”, forgive, pray everyday and just be……HAPPY!

I’d like to thank you for taking the time to read this, as well as those who have liked, commented and shared. Moreover, I’m especially grateful to God who is first in my life, to my family for their love, and to friends who have supported me and have encouraged me to embark on this journey of sharing the pages of my heart.
