Prior to His crucifixion, Christ told Peter that he would deny Him, but Peter refused to accept the fact; needless to say he did. Yet Jesus appeared to him after his resurrection and dared to ask him if he loved him. After being asked the 3rd time, Peter gave Jesus his most sincere answer, “You know that I love you”. Like Peter, we may fail God, but upon being redeemed there’s no better way to show Him our love than to do His will. We may tell God we love Him, but are we showing Him as well?
A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you.” Jesus said, “Then feed my sheep. (John 21:17 NLT)
