While waiting in line at a store one day I observed two little girls playing. At first I thought they were probably there together but quickly realized they’d just met. I loved their innocence. They didn’t judge each other’s physical appearance or differences, each one found in the other a companion with whom to play. This is why the sermon on the mount, Jesus said we must be humble like a child. I’d like to add that they are also genuine, honest, and innocent. We often focus on teaching children valuable lessons, but the lessons they teach us are just as valuable.
So anyone who becomes as humble as this little child is the greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. (Matthew 18:4 NLT)
