Let ‘em Go

The road ahead can go one of two ways;

grow stronger ties or break these permanently, if the latter happens just remember this:

You will live not in bliss if you beg them to stay

Rise Up

Dr. Seuss once expressed: “To the world you may be one person; but to one person you may be the world.” Even if there’s only one…it’s worth it, especially when you are doing good, so keep going.

The King will reply, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40 NIV)

The Road Less Traveled

Along the road less traveled

A visitor walks a life unravels

Along the road less traveled

There aren’t many stops but there are plenty battles

Along the road less traveled

Forget photo ops, there’re no fairy tales and castles

Along the road less traveled

There’s plenty of headaches, heartaches, and hassles

Along the road less traveled

One may lose priceless possessions

Along the road less traveled

One may find moments of depression

But the road less traveled

Will teach many valuable lessons

And the road less traveled

Has many hidden blessings

For those willing to walk down the road less traveled.

Forward Always

In Spanish there’s a saying: “Don’t go back, not even to gain momentum”. The past is called that for a reason, because it passed. We can learn from it, all while making sure not to go back. I recall a series where the protagonist would say “Forward always, backwards never”. Let’s focus on the wonderful things The Creator has authored into our future.

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead… (Philippians 3:13 NLT)

Love Paths

I thought our paths crossed
Instead I crossed to your path.
Ironically I found myself lost
Having lost myself in our aftermath.

A tough decision had to be made
I needed to break free from your love spell.
Back to my path I went feeling betrayed
But I learned we will never work because our paths only run parallel.

Life is an Adventure

Life is too short and this world is too big to be stagnant. It’s one thing to be alive and another to live. I choose the latter. The good news is that it’s never to late to choose to live, all you need is to be alive and make the most of each day.

“Oh! Teach us to live well! Teach us to live wisely and well!” Psalm 90:12 (MSG)

Life is Simple

I’ve learned so much from the most unexpected teachers, and one of the biggest lessons for me is that life REALLY is…….SIMPLE.

While the children that I’ve encountered throughout the years have shown me this, it was a group of young adults with Down Syndrome, in a recent series I was watching, that reinforced this concept for me.

We are the ones who complicate things. If only we could learn from the innocence of children and those who have not been jaded by society and the cold culture that surrounds us. If only we could light up the flame of humanity once more. If only we could pay more attention to each other rather than our electronics and gadgets. How different life would be if we learned the secrets to its simplicity.

Today, let us get back to the basics. Let us apologize, forgive, laugh, dance, live and LOVE!
