Weather the Storm

Weather the StormWe’ve all had storms in our lives. For some, they may have been more like natural disasters; I dare say catastrophes even. Truth be told, these things have to happen; rain makes us grow, wind pushes us farther, fire purifies, and pressure creates diamonds. In today’s passage, the disciples were passing through a fierce storm. Jesus was sleeping during the storm and at one point (when it seemed the boat would capsize) they questioned Him, asking if He cared whether or not they drowned. It was then when Jesus stood up and calmed the storm. It’s the same with us. As we weather the storms that torment our lives, let us be reminded that Jesus is with us, He cares, and at just the right moment, He will calm the storm and bring peace to the situation and to us.

And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. (Mark 4:39 KJV)
