I once heard a preacher say, “How can you receive what God has for you if your hands are full?”. The truth is sometimes letting go, while painful, may be just the thing to we need to begin healing. We don’t like to leave our comfort zone, thus we hold on to what we know. The Bible says we can’t even begin to fathom the things God has planned for us; they are just that wonderful. Unfortunately, fear of the unknown keeps many from finding out. Maybe it’s a good moment to be brave and find out what God has in store by first letting go in order to receive.
That is what the Scriptures mean when they say,
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard,
and no mind has imagined
what God has prepared
for those who love him.” (1 Corinthians 2:9 NLT)
