Y esa flor eres tú, mujer bella

Happy Mother’s Day ladies!

They say Rome wasn’t built in a day,
So remember this when clouds turn to gray,
and when the house is messy from the kids’ bustle and play.
“Good things take time”, that’s what people say,
And though today’s teachings will be tomorrow’s yesterday,
It will be those things that show your kids the right way.
So be the rock that lays the foundation today.
You’re a mom and you’re beautiful that way!

Smile for the World

When you see the world, you smile.
If smiles were gas we’d travel for miles.
When you see the world, you smile,
but when the world sees you it smiles back for a while.
So smile for the world because that never goes out of style!

I Celebrate You

She is a warrior
Unique, no one like her
She is a mystery, she’s a poetic song
She is capable, hardworking and strong
Nature’s nurture, valuable, beautiful
She is priceless and that is indisputable
I celebrate you, WOMAN!

Her Happiness

A smile filled her lips and tears filled her eyes

She was happy

This happiness came from seeing another’s

For she wasn’t selfish

She understood true joy

It came from a place of Love

And she understood love

It came from forgiveness

She understood forgiveness

For she had been gifted it

So she lived and loved

She spread the seeds of joy with her smile

And smiled when others rejoiced

Because she was happy

And happiness is a gift

International Day of the Girl was initially declared by the United Nations in 2011 to celebrate and empower young girls to rise up and fight for equality, safety, and their rights. There is a quote I once shared from a Mathew Henry Commentary that has stuck with me throughout the years. It goes:

She was “not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled on by him, but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected and near his heart to be beloved.”

Today, show your love to a sister, friend, neighbor, niece, or any other girl and let her know she’s valuable. Below is a copy of my book, She Was A Girl First, feel free to download and share.

Seeds of Love

Let my words be seeds planted in hearts, that they may grow and feed a world hungry for love.
