You Probably Won’t Read This

If I can’t be honest with myself, how can I be honest with the world? 

Allow me a moment of your time to share a piece of my heart. I didn’t start my page just to paint a perfect picture. Life isn’t always seen through rose-tinted glasses. There are issues, real issues that we don’t like to touch, we turn a blind eye, and pretend like these things don’t happen, but they do. Someone has to speak out, because somewhere, someone is seeking an answer, searching for hope, or simply needs to be reminded that they are not alone. I recall a time when I was that person. I remember being surrounded by many, hearing the laughter, faking the smiles, hiding the tears, playing the part, acting ok, but at the end of the day the mask came off and I was…alone. No one noticed, no one ever does, because everyone is too busy worrying about themselves, trying to fit in, trying to make a buck, getting followers on social media, and wearing their many hats and masks. That loneliness led to many BAD decisions. I tripped and stumbled countless times, I fell in the darkest pits imaginable, and even convinced myself that God would never forgive me, let alone love me. I was wrong.

Everyone is busy, we don’t have enough hours in the day, but take some time daily to share a smile, give a hug, encourage/compliment someone, and be the light we are called to be. The world has gotten so used to the darkness it lives in, that it fears the light. If only others could see with clarity, they’d notice they are not alone, they never were, and that they are loved. Love is not just a feeling, or a temporary high due to a chemical reaction in the brain, it is a lifestyle. God is love. He showed us the truest form of it when He sent His son to pay for our sins. He loves us without prejudice or conditions and it is that kind of love that changes lives.
