Intentional God

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

Stand Up

If life has taught me one thing it’s this, the key to falling is in getting back up.

Releasing History & Reaching Out For Destiny

img_5501Consider this: is it possible to a drive a car forward if we only look through the rear view mirror? Of course not, yet we often do that in life. I am guilty doing it. The enemy tries to use our past in order to keep us from moving forward to the things God has planned for us. There’s an old saying that goes “When the devil reminds you of your past, remind him of his future”. His fate is sealed, he has been defeated, he’s just trying to drag as many people as he can along for the ride. Perhaps it’s a good day to let go of the past and reach out for what’s to come.

No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13 NLT)

Temporary Leaves

img_5219When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the garden of Eden, they felt exposed and tried to cover themselves with leaves. Later on, despite being disappointed with them due to their disobedience, God made them better coverings from animal skins. The point? When we mess up and try to fix things on our own, it’s like those leaves….a temporary solution. They couldn’t protect Adam and Eve from the elements. Still, God’s love is so great that although we fail Him, He doesn’t leave us to die on account of our mistakes. He takes care of us, even as we face the consequences of our actions.
At that moment their eyes were opened, and they suddenly felt shame at their nakedness. So they sewed fig leaves together to cover themselves.
And the LORD God made clothing from animal skins for Adam and his wife.

Genesis 3:7, 21 NLT

Look Right

Guilt Be Gone

IMG_4585Living with guilt is consuming, you can’t eat, can’t sleep, can’t live, but what a relief it is when we get rid of it by confessing. God is all-knowing, yet how many of us have tried to hide our sins from Him and live with the burden of guilt? Is it because we are afraid He won’t forgive us? 1 John 1:9 says “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Let’s be honest, we are only fooling ourselves. One of my favorite Mandisa songs says that God can handle our honesty. Give it a try, He’s ready to listen.

Finally, I confessed all my sins to you and stopped trying to hide my guilt. I said to myself, “I will confess my rebellion to the Lord.” And you forgave me! All my guilt is gone. (Psalm 32:5 NLT)

A Trip And A Fall

I tripped and fell

By mistake for you

I tripped and fell

But you had no clue

I tripped and fell

I saw you had tripped too

I tripped and fell

As our love slowly grew

I tripped and fell

But with time you withdrew

Now I wonder

Was any of it true?
