You Probably Won't Read This

If I can’t be honest with myself, how can I be honest with the world?

Allow me a moment of your time to share a piece of my heart. I didn’t start my page just to paint a perfect picture. Life isn’t always seen through rose-tinted glasses. There are issues, real issues that we don’t like to touch, we turn a blind eye, and pretend like these things don’t happen, but they do. Someone has to speak out, because somewhere, someone is seeking an answer, searching for hope, or simply needs to be reminded that they are not alone. I recall a time when I was that person. I remember being surrounded by many, hearing the laughter, faking the smiles, hiding the tears, playing the part, acting ok, but at the end of the day the mask came off and I was…alone. No one noticed, no one ever does, because everyone is too busy worrying about themselves, trying to fit in, trying to make a buck, getting followers on social media, and wearing their many hats and masks. That loneliness led to many BAD decisions. I tripped and stumbled countless times, I fell in the darkest pits imaginable, and even convinced myself that God would never forgive me, let alone love me. I was wrong.

Everyone is busy, we don’t have enough hours in the day, but take some time daily to share a smile, give a hug, encourage/compliment someone, and be the light we are called to be. The world has gotten so used to the darkness it lives in, that it fears the light. If only others could see with clarity, they’d notice they are not alone, they never were, and that they are loved. Love is not just a feeling, or a temporary high due to a chemical reaction in the brain, it is a lifestyle. God is love. He showed us the truest form of it when He sent His son to pay for our sins. He loves us without prejudice or conditions and it is that kind of love that changes lives.

Share THAT love, show THAT love, live THAT love, and believe in THAT love.

Lets fight loneliness…TOGETHER!

Hate Them With Love

Hate is a burden It’s only human to become upset or enraged when we have been unfairly treated, but the Bible teaches us that the sin is in how we act, “And don’t sin by letting anger control you…” (‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭26‬ NLT). Demonstrating love is challenging enough for me, so you could only imagine how much more difficult it must be to do so in the place of anger. Yet I’ve learned that love has been the key to overcoming some of the most difficult situations I’ve faced. Had Civil Rights leaders like Dr. King condoned violence, they would not have achieved what they did in the timeframe that they did it in. Bottom line: Love is the most powerful weapon we have.

Instead, “If your enemies are hungry, feed them. If they are thirsty, give them something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals of shame on their heads.” (‭Romans‬ ‭12‬:‭20‬ NLT)

Seeking: Imperfect People

WarningWhen we read Genesis 1 we find a world that is “formless and empty” (Genesis 1:2 NLT) before God began to work on it. Please be advised that the following is not for perfect people, on the contrary. God is not looking for perfection, He seeks out the formless, the empty, the broken, and the chaotic to make something new and beautiful. Give Him your mess and allow Him to take care of the rest, He will not let you down.

For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. (‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬ NLT)

Outside Our Bubble

Outside Our Bubble

“Humility is not thinking less of yourself, it’s thinking of yourself less.”   Our world is far larger than the bubble in which we live in. The book of Proverbs tells us that pride comes before the fall, but before that happens let us remember to think of those in need. Moreover, there’s no need to tell everyone what we do for others, like the popular saying goes; Work hard in silence and let your success make all the noise.

“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.” (Phillipians 2:4 NLT)

Learn from the Stumble

There isn’t enough time to make ALL of our own mistakes, we must learn from others. For us who are living during these tough times, let us learn from the people of Sodom and Gomorrah (Genesis 19) or on the other hand the people of Nineveh (Jonah 3). Let’s not trip over the same stones over and over.
These things happened to them as examples for us. They were written down to warn us who live at the end of the age. (‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭10‬:‭11‬ NLT)

Future Glory

Things may be difficult now but nothing under the sun, or under The Son, goes unnoticed. What we sow in life we will reap in eternity.

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.

(‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭18‬ NLT)
